SHORT TERM MEDICAL PLANS
Short term medical plans offer health care coverage for a limited period of time (up to 6 with the chance to renew for up to 12 months in Missouri) and can be a great solution when you’re between jobs, waiting for group coverage to start, or need an affordable solution to a more traditional health insurance plan. The plans have limitations. For example, most plans do not cover preventive or prescriptions, and many have a lifetime maximum. These plans are not subject to the open enrollment period. Therefore, enrollment is available year round.
